What is Cultured Cow Ghee?
Cultured cow ghee is made by fermenting curd (dahi) using traditional methods. This is not made from cream or malai. At Truly Desi, we follow the Bilona method where curd is churned to extract butter, which is then slowly heated to make ghee. This process enhances its digestibility, taste, and nutrition.
What are the Nutrition Facts of Ghee?
Pure cow ghee is a rich source of healthy fats. It contains vitamins A, D, E, and K. It supports digestion, brain function, and immunity. A2 Gir Cow Ghee from Truly Desi provides Omega-3 fatty acids and CLA (conjugated linoleic acid), which are beneficial for heart health and metabolism.
What Makes Gir Cow Ghee Special and Why is it Expensive?
Most commercial ghee available in the market is made by processing cream and is often laced with cheap adulterants and preservatives, making it cheaper but far inferior in quality and nutrition. At Truly Desi, we craft our ghee using the traditional Bilona method — a slow, time-honored process where cultured curd made from Gir cow A2 milk is churned to extract butter, which is then slowly simmered to make ghee. This method yields just 1 kg of ghee from approximately 30 liters of milk making it much more expensive.
What is the Difference Between Regular Ghee and Gir Ghee?
Regular ghee may be made from any milk, often using cream and commercial methods. Gir Ghee, especially from Truly Desi, is made from A2 milk of indigenous Gir cows using the Bilona method. It is free from preservatives and chemicals, offering higher purity and health benefits.
